I needed a quick project and once again turned to a background made at a recent workshop - this time with Barbara Gray, using alcohol inks on a gel plate to create landscapes.

In The Garden Projects

Following up to Deb Wheeler's show on Clarity Social TV yesterday afternoon I thought I would share the projects created with some of the Linda Williams' In The Garden stamp sets.  Details of the project are linked below each photo.

Journal Page - Memories of 2020

The prompt over on Try It On Tuesday is Add some Text.  As you can see, as well as the stamped text on this journal page, I also used book paper to create the flames.

I added transparent gesso to a double page of handmade paper in a journal and allowed to dry. I then added Fossilized Amber Distress Paint roughly to the pages and dried thoroughly.

Next, I added some Terracotta Adirondack paint through the Clarity Wild Privet stencil in places.

Black card was trimmed 4” x 4.5” and the 3.25” nested square picot die used to cut an Aperture from one end.

I stamped the Phoenix stamp onto stencil card in Terracotta Adirondack ink.

It was coloured with Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils blended out with a watercolour brush pen.

Fussy cut and attached behind the die cut.

The image and die cut were attached to the left-hand page, sealed with matte medium and dried thoroughly.

I added shading around the image with a Faber-Castell Big Brush marker and blended it out with a Pergamano blending pen and nib.

Doodles were then added to the edge of the frame round the phoenix in white gel pen.

Pieces of book text were torn into the shape of flames and added to the right-hand page. They were sealed with matte medium and dried thoroughly.

I went over the flames with the Cobalt Green, Dark Naples Ochre and Terracotta Faber-Castell Big brush markers blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nib to echo the image.

Further doodling was added to the flames using a white gel pen.

I stamped 2020 in Versamark ink below the Phoenix using the Word Chain Numbers,then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

To finish, I added ‘Still I Rise’ to the right-hand page using the Word Chain Alphabet stamps in Nocturne Versafine Clair. Heat emboss with clear powder.

My desk this weeks shows some of the projects that were produced at the workshop with the Craft Collective that I went to on Sunday.  Great fun and I will be going to another one in the future I am sure.

A nice easy one!

The parents' evening went well, as did the workshop as you can see on my desk.  Had a stomach bug in between the two but was well enough by Sunday to head up North for the day.  The solar panels and battery are working well and apart from the standing charge we have been self sufficient for electricity since they went online.

This time next week I will be in Paris with the Y8 trip so it will probably be a short post.  I will get it sorted on our arrival at the hostel next Tuesday evening I think.

It would have been our 35th wedding anniversary today, so I used another print that I pulled at Barbara Gray's gel press with alcohol ink workshop, to create this quick card in memory of my late husband.

I have got out of sync with the Clarity New Design Club stencils as I have used the May stencil before the April one.  I created a clean and simple panel card with it.

My desk shows much of my first Clarity order in the Members' Half Price Sale (on until Monday 23rd June). Groovi and storage and I have since put in another sneaky order.

Still on track with my #dailyart2025.

I will probably be visiting but not commenting this week as I have a parents' evening tonight (last one ever) followed by a dash to the theatre to see Calamity Jane.  They are also starting the solar panels today - scaffolding went up yesterday. This coming Sunday I will be travelling to Oldham for an all day workshop with the Craft Collective (Leonie Pujol, Paula Pascual and Erica Palfreyman) with guest Lou Withers.  I will need to get all the household chores done on Saturday as a result.

I can't believe that we are half way through June already - the month seems to have flown by.  So it is time to share my #dailyart2025 for the first half of the month. As usual, I have been following the prompts from 365 Day of Drawing Prompts and Other Art and working in a Clarity Petite Journal.
