WOYWW 895/115: Waiting on Results

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

I can't show you the ATC and PTC that I have made as they are for a swap.
Eva was on the other side of the desk having been for a walk and breakfast at Trentham on Monday.

I am back at the dentist today for a follow up appointment.  I gave u3a a miss yesterday as I have tweaked a nerve in my neck again so am back doing the exercises the physio gave me last year for the same thing.

I am awaiting test results from a follow up procedure on Saturday to last Thursdays scans and consultation.  One of the nurses happened to be an ex form member of mine from over 20 years' ago!  I am not worrying in the mean time however, as there seems little point in stressing out for the moment.

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 894/114: And Breathe

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Not much has changed on my desk that I can show you as I spent the weekend and Monday making samples. Yesterday was spent having a PJ day.

I went to the dentist last Thursday and have a course of antibiotics and a follow up appointment for next Wednesday.  I also saw the GP on Monday afternoon and have been referred to the hospital for further tests tomorrow.  I am obviously falling apart post retirement.  I am very glad for the NHS.

This evening I will be driving to Birmingham (Midland Arts Centre) to see Steve Hofstetter, the stand up comedian from the US.  Really looking forward to it as I have followed him on FB for ages.

Mum's as usual on Friday so will make my visits while there.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 893/113: Last Day!

My desk shows some of the Clarity goodies which arrived for me lately as well as the usual affirmation cards.

Today is my last day at work before retiring for the second time.  I did handover with my successor yesterday and have two more lessons to teach and sets of books to mark.  After the post school staff get together I will be celebrating with a trip to the theatre to see Lord of the Dance - not very well planned given the England semi final!  I am hoping to catch up on BBC iPlayer when I get home without knowing the score.  Tomorrow I will be having a very long lie in, although I may also have to phone the dentist.  I had a deep clean last week and it seems to have set off one of my teeth.  I have had tooth ache since Sunday!

Off to Mum's on Friday and will do my visiting from there after we get back from our usual leisurely  breakfast at 'Spoons.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 892 / 112: Four More Working Days

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk shows my affirmation cards and one of the new Clarity mugs I bought at the Open Days to go with the one gifted to me by Barbara.  The earliest I can share my latest samples is tomorrow and the only other project I completed recently was a wedding card for a colleague, so that can't be shared yet either.

It is my final Awards' Evening tonight!  The performance at York went really well last Thursday although I was totally pooped on Friday.  Recorders again on Saturday with another group and then u3a rehearsal on Tuesday - it will be a musical week.  I am also doing a handover with my successor on Monday so retirement (II) seems closer than ever.

Wishing Julia a belated happy birthday for yesterday.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 891/111: A Little Cooler

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

I can't believe it is July already.  Where did the first half of 2026 go?

My desk shows my daily affirmation cards and also the results of a fabulous workshop with Tilly Tea Dance on Saturday.  The day was topped off by a visit to the theatre to see Willy Wonka, which was an excellent production.

I managed to get four samples made and posted off by Sunday, so it was a busy weekend too.

I have gone green for my July #dailyatc2026 backgrounds, as you will see next week.

It has been far more comfortable in school this week thank goodness - hopefully you have all enjoyed cooler temperatures.

Tomorrow I am off to York with the Lichfield recorder group for the u3a festival.  Another long day, so I am looking forward to a lie in on Friday!

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 890/110: Whew What a Scorcher

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk this week shows the set up at Ditton for the Clarity Make and Takes on Friday and Saturday.  I don't know how everyone is coping with the heat but it was 33 degrees plus on Friday which made for a challenging time.
On the other side of the desk is Eva, who took part in the first session on Saturday (which was a little cooler).
Eva's version

My project
As you can see, she went a different way using the same stamps.

I prepped all my #dailyatc2026 in advance.

Yesterday my recorder group came to school and played for KS2 (Y5&6 - age 9-11).  It went really well considering the heat.

I am really sorry I didn't visit desks last week.  Time got away from me as I did Barb's workshop on Sunday (sitting opposite two lovely ladies who had flown in from Texas), drove back home on Monday and was back at work yesterday.  I will do better this week.

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.
