WOYWW 872/92: On the Mend

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.
I always seem to be behind on news about Neet, but my understanding is that she is back home.  Here's to a steady recovery!

I used my glass mat on the desk to measure my knitting and I am ready to start decreasing for the armholes.  I am also nearly ready for my second ball of wool.

I thought this would give everyone a laugh.  It was recently on my old school's FB page and brought back plenty of memories.  I still have the shield that I won (I am in the backrow on the end next to the student in a top hat).  Somewhere I have a signed photo of Jack Woolgar too.

I didn't end up going over to Mum's last Friday as I was full of cold and didn't want to pass it on.  I did make it to SRP on Saturday  - I had to take minutes as there was a committee meeting before the playing session - and made it through the afternoon.
I will be heading over this week though as it is my turn to pay for breakfast at Spoons.
Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 871/91: Upping the Rows

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Sorry to hear that Neet has been back in hospital.  Wishing her well and that she is back home again soon.

My desk shows some of the stamps that Barbara Gray is bringing to Hobby Maker TV today.  I have really enjoyed playing with them and ordered the remaining Elements sets as soon as they became available.
I have just moved up from 4 rows to 6 rows a day, so my jumper is really starting to come on.  Nearly finished the increasing.
Lips
This was the first time I had to use a non Clarity item - the lips are by Visible Image - everything else is Clarity.

For this one I used one of the stamps from Timestamp Creations (made by Clarity).

I had a great afternoon rehearsing with the u3a recorders in Lichfield yesterday.  We were also sorting the logistics of going up to York for the day to play at the u3a national festival at the beginning of July.  I have the monthly SRP (Society of Recorder Players) meeting on Saturday too - so a most musical week.  Just had my new allocation for sample making too so plenty of crafting to be done.
Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.  I will be doing the rounds on Friday as usual.

WOYWW 870/90: Back Knitting

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Sorry to hear that Neet is back in hospital.  Wishing her well and that she is back home again soon.

My desk shows some of the new stamps that arrived on Monday from Clarity (by Timestamp Creations).  I spent yesterday afternoon putting them away after my samples were posted off and will have a play tomorrow before Anglo-German club - I am planning a PJ/TV catch up day today.
As you can see there has been a small amount of progress with my knitting.  I have been sticking to two rows a day over the last week in case the pain came back and from tomorrow I will up it to 4 rows a day.

As you can see, I have changed the colour palette for the backgrounds on my #dailyatc2026 with the start of February.  I can't believe we are already over a month into 2026.
I will be round to visit on Friday as always.  Until then, stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 869/89: Busy Busy

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Wishing Neet a continuing recovery now she is back home.

Some of you were not too sure what I

meant by a Groovi plate last week so I have a small selection on my desk today.  They are etched plates to help transfer line art onto parchment using an embossing tool.

This is the finished card that I was working on last week.
Here's the project that I completed at Tilly Tea Dance's workshop last Friday.  It was a great day and good to see Jo as well.

As you can see I am keeping up with the #dailyatc2026.  I spent yesterday afternoon at the U3a recorder group in Lichfield.   It was the first time that I had made it this year and it was so good to play some new music together and catch up with my brother who conducts the group.
Apart from crafting and visiting Mum, I have no other plans this coming week - although next Tuesday is the get together with retired staff from the first school that I worked at.
Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 868/88: Feeling Much Better

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Still sending love and best wishes to Neet in hospital.

My desk actually shows a work in prog

ress for a change.  I rejoined the Clarity New Design Groovi club after a few years away and am in the middle of working on the January offering.

I have put a pause on the knitting for the moment as Mum pointed out that it may have had a bearing on the pain - GP says it is likely muscular-skeletal as most other things were ruled out at A&E last week.  Thank you so much for all your well wishes.  I am feeling a lot better and the Ibuprofen gel prescribed by the GP is helping as well.

I had to resort to a Groovi plate for this one as I do not have a Clarity hourglass stamp.

As you can see, I have managed to keep up with my #dailyatc2026 challenge.
I am hoping to catch up with Twiglet on Friday as I am attending a Tilly Tea Dance workshop.  I will be at Mum's tomorrow therefore and hope to catch up with desk visits there.
Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 867/87: A Bit of a Blip

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Sending love and best wishes to Neet who is still in hospital last I heard.

My desk shows two of the new stamp sets that Barbara is showcasing this afternoon on Hobby Maker.  There is a square frame set as well which is on my 'to get' list.

The back of my sweater is growing.  I am half way through the first pattern section of 20 rows.
Before I forget, thanks again so much for all the left-handed crochet tips, links and information that you let me have after last week's post.

I had a bit of a health scare on Monday when I woke with a sharp pain at the bottom of my ribs on the left hand side.  Having given it some time to resolve, I rang 111 and they advised going up to A and E, so #2 son took me up there and I had the full works - ECG, bloods and chest x-ray.  I was discharged about 4 hours later - not a heart attack.  Spent yesterday resting at home and will probably follow up with the GP tomorrow if things have not completely settled down by then.
Didn't go over to Mum's last Friday as she was worried about me driving with the slushy roads.
Stay safe and happy WOYWW.
