Animals Real or Imaginary

 I was invited to be a guest designer for Try It On Tuesday using the theme of Animals, Real or Imaginary.  I decided it was about time I cracked open my new art journal and used some older Clarity stamps - Safari Animals.

Random Letter Background

I just used random letters from the Open Alphabet and Numbers masks to create this card.

Birthday Word Rainbow

I just used a couple of the Build a Background stamp sets for this rainbow birthday card.  The SHAC People Silhouette stamps match perfectly with the original outline stamps.

Monogrammed Mini Makes

For my second set of samples using the Open Alphabet and Numbers Masks, I created a couple of monogrammed mini makes.  This time I used the SHAC People Build a Background stamp set in addition to the Grunge set.

Happy 27th Birthday

These new open alphabet and number masks from Clarity Crafts are such fun to play with.  There are also a selection of Build a Background stamp sets available.  Here I used the Grunge and the Sentiments sets to create this birthday card.

October Calendar Page

 I am so glad that Clarity have brought out their own calendar blanks for next year, I spent ages trying to find one for this year.  For my October page I used one of the backgrounds that were created at the summer retreats as a starting point.

My desk has actually seen some non sample making action in my ledger journal, however I can't reveal more yet.  I have been asked to be guest designer on Try It On Tuesday (where Pear Shaped Chris is on the DT) for next Tuesday, so I will be able to show you what I was up to next week.

I am slowly getting the hang of this here retirement lark.  The concert went well last Friday, and we recruited another player for the U3a group.  I am meeting up with the Chair of South Staffs. SRP later this morning to get to grips with all the responsibilities of the secretary.  I also spent Saturday afternoon at Mum's and am going again tomorrow.  I need to find my jigsaw board so I can start some of the jigsaws that have been waiting for me to find time to do them as well.  My latest samples were sent with no drama via RM and Evri have finally agreed to compensate me for the lost ones!

 I had a ready made background from the summer Clarity retreats which I combined with the September New Design Club stamps to create this quick card.

Hip Hip Hooray Birthday Painter

 Once again, I used Barbara Gray's project which came with the September Clarity New Design Club stencil as a starting point, but then went off in my own direction.

Geo Dandelion Mini Make

 I finally had time to play with one of the new Timestamp Creations stamp sets.  I went with a mini make using yet another of the alcohol ink backgrounds from Barb's course.

Pink Diamond Fold Card

 The current mid month challenge over on Clarity Mini Makes and ATCs is to make a small dimensional card with a touch of pink.  This is what I came up with using a diamond fold.

Pretty Paper Hearts

The current challenge over on Try It On Tuesday is Pretty Papers.  Clarity Crafts certainly have an amazing selection to choose from. They make beautiful Scandinavian Hearts if woven together.  Here I worked with Toscana designer papers.

The prompt for the September ATC swap over on Clarity Crafts Mini Makes and ATCs is Travel/Pink.  I had plenty of stamps to choose from!  This is what I came up with.

Some projects to keep me busy between now and the end of the year on my desk today.  Not that I am finding it difficult to fill the time now I am retired.  I was elected secretary of the South Staffs. Society of Recorder Players on Saturday so that will also help fill my days.

I did eventually catch up with my #dailyart2025 after a couple of days in bed with the bad cold.  Thanks for all the well wishes.  I am feeling a lot better.  Yesterday I had a hair cut  and met up with a friend for coffee.  I am still waiting for a refund from Evri as I do not have any invoices for all the cards that they lost.  The next lot of samples will be going via Royal Mail as I can print the label via the app.

#dailyart2025: September Part I

 Still on track to complete my #dailyart2025 challenge based on the prompts on the 365 days of drawing prompts and other art FB group.  I am still working in my Clarity petite watercolour journal (#6).

My mother and both sisters are/were nurses - these represent some of the uniform changes when hats were worn.

I followed an online tutorial for this but added colour.

Thought the big apple was a good representation.

Inspired by the Triangle People stamps designed by Barbara Gray.

Caught up with these two afterwards as I was feeling poorly those days.

Farewell Card

Even though I am now retired, I still like making cards to celebrate my former colleagues.  I made this card for a wonderful cover supervisor who is moving to Scotland with her family.

Paint Splodge Mini Makes

For my last samples using the Mr Painter stamps from Clarity Crafts, I went with a pair of mini makes using all the paint splodge and sentiment stamps.

From My Home To Yours

I had a play with the roof stamps from the Build a House Clarity Street set and used the stamp off card to create a background for the sentiment.

Mr Painter Shaving Foam Background

I thought that a shaving foam background combined with using actual paint with the mask, would make a fun card using the Mr Painter stamps from Clarity Crafts.

I mixed both sets of Clarity Street stamp sets to make this new home card.

My desk shows my latest goodies from Clarity Crafts - the most recent collection from Timestamp Creations.  No time to play yet though, as I have more samples to make.  Talking of which, my last lot have been officially declared lost so I am awaiting a refund from Evri.

I followed a cool online tutorial for this one, but added my own colour.

I caught up with everyone at work last Friday as I had to drop off some bits and pieces.  It was good to see everyone but won't be going in again unless invited as I don't want to wear out my welcome.

I started with a horrible cold yesterday thanks to #3 son passing his on.  Still made it to u3a recorders though.  It was our last rehearsal before our concert on the 19th.
