The current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Vintage and I thought this tag would fit the theme perfectly.

Something New: A Pair of Tags

The prompt over on Tag Tuesday is Something New! - I can't wait for Spring so these tags seemed appropriate.

Spring Tag with Oxide Background

The current theme over on Tag Tuesday is Spring Colours: Yellow/Green so I decided to take it literally.

New Year, New Beginnings - A Pair of Tags

This fortnight's  prompt over on Tag Tuesday is New Year, New Beginnings and I went with a Spring theme and made two tags.  I found the perfect background on my inky paper pile.

Cover a #8 manilla tag with the top layer of a piece of inky paper towel, seal with matte medium, dry and trim the excess.

Add one of the eggs from the Clarity Chicks and Eggs stamp set in Ground Espresso archival ink.

Stamp one of the chicks from the same set on top of the egg in Black Soot archival ink.

Add shading to the images using Faber-Castell big brush markers, blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nibs.

Add yellow flock to the chick using a quickie glue pen and yellow fun flock powder.

Add a glaze to the eggs and the beak of the chick using a clear embossing pen and heat emboss in clear embossing powder. To finish, add the Clarity Spring stamp (NDC #100) in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat emboss in clear powder. Colour using Faber-Castell big brush markers.

Cover a #8 manilla tag with another section of the top layer of the same piece of inky paper towel as before, seal with matte medium, dry and trim the excess.

Stamp some of the Wee Foliage stamps at the bottom using Library Green, Peat Moss, Ground espresso and Black Soot archival inks.

Add the foliage from the Birdhouse Garden stamp set at the top in the same manner.

Add one of the bunnies from the stamp set of the same name at the bottom in Ground Espresso archival ink.

Stamp the same bunny onto Clarity stencil card in the same ink.

Colour with a Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer water colour pencil scribbled on the Pergamano mix mat and picked up with a watercolour brush pen.

Fussy cut (taking off the whiskers, edge with a brown brush pen and add to the tag.

To finish, add the Clarity Time for Something New stamp (NDC #113) in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat emboss in clear powder. Colour using Faber-Castell big brush markers.

NB For those not sure what an inky paper pile is.  I keep all my sheets of copy paper and paper towels that I have used to mop up ink off blending mats, cleaning stamps and stencils and removing excess ink/paint from brayers.

The Time is Now: A Reflective Tag

The theme for Tag Tuesday's current challenge is Time and Clocks.  This is a good time for reflection and I am trying to use up a lot more of my scraps and inky backgrounds this year.

I was delighted when the last Clarity New Design Club stamp of 2020 (#170) dropped through the letterbox as it meant that I was finally able to finish a project which I started in 2018.

I Shall Wear Purple: Double Layered Tag

The challenges over on Mixed Media Art Journey have 6 part and you can use as many of them as you wish.  However when I saw them, a particular poem came to mind - Warning by Jenny Joseph.  The current prompts are make a tag, use purple, add scrap paper, add doodle, book quote and rip / cut / tear edge. I included all six.

Add a piece of copy paper used to clean a brayer to a #8 manilla tag. Seal with matte medium, dry and trim.

Add the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet in similar colours to a second #8 manilla tag in the same way.

Use a pair of large deckle edge scissors to cut the top section off the second tag.

Glue the two tags together with the smaller tag on top.

Add stamping to the top tag section using two of the Mixed Media Journal stamps in Dusty Concord archival ink.

Add one of the Halloween Paper Dolls from Tim Holtz.

Add the first line from the poem ‘Warning’ by Jenny Joseph using a black Posca pen. Add the word purple using the Clarity Tall Letterbox Infill Alphabet down the side in Versamark ink. Heat emboss with purple embossing powder.

To finish, add doodling around the letters and along the deckle edge with a black micron pen.

I finally finished the first 100 Quarantine Quickie prompts from Mission Inspiration.  Although there are another 50, I decided to stop here.

I can't believe that it is five years today since I started this blog.  For the first couple of years, my posts were a little sporadic, but I have been posting daily now for over three years and thoroughly enjoy being part of a wider community.  2020 seems to be the year of the tag for me, so it is only fitting that I share two more today.

WOYWW 582: Normal Crafting Service has been Resumed

The school holidays have settled down to a crafting rhythm now.  Blog first thing, craft for the morning, followed by Netflix or back inside for TV catch up in the afternoon.  I am slowly making my way through box sets that have been recorded on my Sky box for years.

Tuesdays are the exception, when Eva pops in to craft on the other side of the desk.  Door and window open and plenty of sanitiser and alcohol wipes available.  I have been working on some new tags as you can see (just about to start 88/100 as the photo was taken).  I also found a photo of the Dalek costume that #1 son insisted on me making for him (for the Nursery fancy dress competition at the Parish and school summer fair), when he first started school.

On the other side of the desk, Eva travels relatively light these days, as she tends to work on Groovi projects when she visits.  These do not require as much equipment as getting inky.  She also brings her own mug.  I did pass on everyone's regards from last week.  We are both very relieved to be getting back to some crafting normalcy.  We should also be able to continue when school restarts, as we both have a day off on a Tuesday (restrictions and guidelines permitting).  Happy WOYWW everyone, I'll be round to visit at some point today or early tomorrow.  Don't forget to pop over to Julia's to see more desks.
