Safari Art Journal Page

I didn't find time to join in with Mission Inspiration in 2019 so I am determined to do better in 2020.  There are no longer individual steps to follow, just a theme, a colour palette and five words of inspiration.  This month the colours were clay, amber and sunset, the words: Safari, Jungle, Explore, Journey, Wildlife and the theme 'Animals of the World'.  Here is my interpretation.

WOYWW 461: Enjoying a Break from Work

Hi everyone and welcome back for our regular sharing of the desk under the leadership of Julia at The Stamping Ground.  Once again I have two desks to share; my own and Eva's on the other side of the desk.  Eva asked me to thank everyone for the birthday wishes that she received from so many last week!
My side of the desk shows the card that I was in the middle of, using some of the stamps that I have had for ages and hadn't yet used!  I did get it finished later in the day and shared it on my blog post yesterday (see HERE).
The finished card.
On the other side of the desk, Eva was playing with stencils and Gelatos.  A riot of colour as always.
So there you are; short and sweet just like Julia likes it.  Be sure to pop over and visit other desks if you have the time!

Gelato Tag

I created this tag for the November mini mission on Mission Inspiration (theme 'Horizon'), but as I have only used their stamps I will be adding it to the November challenge for Visible Image too (Make a Tag).  I like to play with words and images so that they fit together so the layout was easy once I'd found the quote to go with the 'Horizon' prompt.

Art Journal Prompts Week 28: Rework an Old Page

I struggled with this page for Art Journal Prompts to start with as I didn't have an art journal page to rework.  Then the suggestion was made to use a drop sheet or mop up sheet as a starting point.  When I looked through my stash I found a failed Gelato background and a gelli plate clean up  sheet from a previous art journal page and had the idea to use the two together.   Together, I love them, but I didn't really like either of them on their own.

JJJ and Mindful Art Challenge 14: Purple, Gold, Cream and Lessons Learned

I will only just get this page submitted to Junk Journals Junkies and Mindful Art in time today, as the new challenge will be starting later on.  I was inspired to get out my Gelatos again having watched Kay Halliwell-Sutton demonstrating them yesterday.

Bright Gelato Background

The inspiration for this card came from a demonstration of Gelatos by Kay Halliwell-Sutton today.  I loved the layers that she created on an 8"x8" piece and decided to reproduce the effect but using different stamps and stencils on a smaller piece.

Gelato Night Sky

I was inspired to make this card after watching Kay Halliwell Sutton demonstrate the Faber-Castell Gelatos on Hochanda this morning.  I have had some for ages, but, just like really beautiful paper, never wanted to use them; I would just admire them in their boxes!  Having had a play, I don't think that I'll be able to stop using them.
Made into an easel card.
