Using a Stencil as a Stamp over a Gelato Background

For a change, I decided to create my own background rather than using one of the Clarity designer papers.

Creativity Is Good For The Soul!

I worked on this tag for the November Challenge on Visible Image, which was simply to create a tag using their stamps.  I used a mix of some old favourites and one of their newer sentiments.  I couldn't resist this challenge as I love tags and also enjoy using Visible Image stamps.  Towards the end, I thought I had ruined the tag, but managed to come up with an idea which saved the day and enhanced the final look.

Hi everyone, I'm back after a week's break with my latest card.  Once again I used some of the jigsaw pieces to create a topper for a Christmas card with a contemporary colour scheme and theme; I hope that you like it.

Experimenting with A5 Background Stamps

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since I posted; I will try and do better.  Only a week until half term and then I will have a little more time.  
As a starting point for my latest card, I wanted to use one of the new A5 background stamps by Docrafts.  I chose the Steampunk background, as I want to create a masculine card; I will be trying the same techniques using the Musicality A5 stamp as this is more feminine.  As it is such a large stamp, I initially used the technique of inking up the stamp and laying the card face down onto it.  I used Versamark ink and black detail embossing powder to heat emboss the design.  As you can see, I ended up with an out of focus effect, as I had obviously moved the card when I was rubbing over the back.

With Sympathy

Never an easy occasion to make a card for; I prefer to keep things clean and simple.  The words which come with the stamp set also make a very fitting verse for inside the card.

WOYWW - first time!

I must thank my sister-in-law Pat for putting me onto this group.  Seems like a great way to share snapshots of what people are up to in an informal way.

So here is my first contribution to What's On Your Workbench Wednesday.  The canvas is from my post yesterday - the first time I've had a go on anything but card or MDF.  When I took the photo I was in the middle of designing a card for a birthday do on Friday that my husband and I have been invited to.  You can see where I've been trying out different gold embossing powders and techniques - heat from above; heat from below.  I am also incredibly lucky that a good crafty friend has joined me in my craft shed for the last couple of days.  She has been working on the zentangle and kindly allowed me to share what she has been up to.
