WOYWW 862/82: A Musical Week Ahead

My desk this week was taken at the start of the workshop with Tilly Tea Dance on Saturday.  I had the most fabulous time as always and it was good to catch up with Twiglet briefly at the end too.

This was the result, which I think is my best one yet.  Back there in the new year for a flower vase project.

I had the most lovely and unexpected card from Shaz in Oz (left) and a beautiful applique card from Jo too.  I don't expect to get cards as I don't send many - I tend to donate to charity instead of paying hefty postage prices.  I will be placing a Christmas card on my desk on Christmas Eve which will be my card to all my wonderful WOYWW friends and I suggest perhaps we all do that.

My advent jigsaw is growing.  Mum has one too so we are going to swap for next year.

It's a heavy musical week ahead.  We had our last rehearsal yesterday for the joint u3a recorder and orchestra concert next Tuesday afternoon and I also have the SRP (Society of Recorder Players) meet up on Saturday.

Wishing Neet a steady improvement and hoping she is out of hospital before Christmas.

I decided to get ahead for this year and batch make some simple Christmas cards using the last ever Clarity New Design Club die.

WOYWW 542: Less than a Week to Go

Sorry I didn't make a visit last week folks, I was wiped out by the extra long day last Wednesday (14 hours door to door) and never quite managed to catch up.  I also had samples that needed urgent posting (shows on Sunday 2-4pm).

My desk shows some items that I have just got out in order  to try out ideas for Christmas cards (there I said it).  I haven't really made any for myself yet to send this year and thought I might try out the new stamps that I got in the recent Clarity Christmas sale.  I am not sure which stencil I will use in the background yet.

Hubby had a last minute hospital appointment yesterday and the other side of the desk shows the empty cups from crafty visitors, who popped over after the appointment was done and dusted.  It made up a little for missing the JJAMMMA meet up in Stockport which I would otherwise have been to.

Twas The night Before Christmas: Quick Cards

I had a set of Christmas cards to make for some friends and wanted them in the same style but each one individual.  The colour of the mat makes a big difference too.  I used the Night Before Christmas stamps from Claritystamp, currently available in the Christmas sale.

Christmas Card Toppers: Mounting Makes a Difference

The decision how to mount up a topper can make a big difference to the look of the finished card.  From the size and layout of the card itself, to the colour used to mat and layer.  Here I have taken three toppers of the same size (3" x 5.5") and mounted them on three different sized cards (6" x 6", A6 and DL).  Each one works, but the effect is completely different each time.
