New Baby Side Fold Back

I made this card in green, as I didn't know whether the new arrival would be a boy or a girl.  I'm not that keen on the colour however, so next time I'll either wait and see before making the card, or choose lemon or beige as a neutral colour.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I must have a thing for feathers as well as butterflies, because I seem to have plenty of stamps, dies and embossing folders on this theme too! Here's how I combined them and my favourite bright distress inks - Salty Ocean; Picked Raspberry; Mowed Lawn; Ripe Persimmon.

WOYWW Feeling Poorly

This is how I left my workbench yesterday evening.  Wasn't intending to blog today, but stuck at home feeling lousy; my husband and eldest child having generously spread their germs to me, so this is for WOYWW 331 over at Julia's Stamping Ground.  As you can see I started a new card; back to zentangle but this time planning on doing silver on black.

Die Cutting with a Difference

For this wedding card I used a mix of stamping, masking and die cutting - but with a difference.  Instead of using the whole die, I slid part of it under the image, so that the bride and groom didn't lose their heads!

Butterflies, Butterflies

I didn't realize how many butterfly stamps and verses that I had until I made this card - and this only uses four of them!  I really like the soft effect that misting the card with glycerine/water spray before stamping creates; it makes your distress ink go further too!

Cock a Doodle Doo!

This card is not my design, but by the wonderful Barbara Gray of Claritystamp.  The step by step instructions came with issue 16 of the New Design Stencil Club stencil - which, as you can see, is a really useful background stencil.  I have been a member of this club since the start and really enjoy receiving the monthly ideas leaflet and new stencil.  I am also a member of the stamp club which also provides inspiration and a new stamp each month.  I am really pleased with how my version came out, although I am not as proficient with a make-up sponge as Barbara.

In the Pink

I sometimes like to stick to a limited colour palette and vary the depth of the tone - in this case shades of pink and white.  A mix of textures adds depth and interest.
