I bought the complete set of Clarity 2026 A4 blanks - Groovi calendar, inky calendar and journal. Having already worked on my calendar pages, it was time to complete the first journal page. It comes with a set of 6.5" x 6.5" stencil card, so I worked on one of those.
I don't like starting with a blank page, so I added an inky mop up sheet to the topper with matte medium, smoothed it with a baren, and trimmed the excess.
I had an image which I had started working on at the November workshop with Barbara Gray (after the open days). I had stamped the large Alice image onto super smooth paper in Jet Black Archival ink, added two of the sentiments and drawn a double line using a micron pen. I had also used a micron pen to 'open her eyes. The image had been coloured using Perga Liners (dress - B4, B5, B6, face - B3, B13).
I finished fussy cutting the image (cutting off the earrings) and added it to the topper with Pritt stick, using a baren to ensure a good bond.
I then went round the image with a sharp Faber-Castell Polychromo pencil (#232 - Essentials) to help make it stand out.
I finished the topper with two of the Woodblock stickers.
To finish the page, I edged the topper with a black Sharpie pen and added it to the first page of the blank journal.
