Under the sea Journal Page

Having only recently caught up with the main June Mission over on Mission Inspiration, decided not to leave it so long before catching up with the July prompts.  The colours suggested were Coral / Ocean / Sand and the choice of prompt words were Wreck / Reef / Tails / Dive / Treasure.

Add a coat of Amsterdam transparent gesso to pages of handmade paper in a leather bound journal. Dry thoroughly. Add Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress paint and Sandal Adirondack paint to the pages and blend them together with a finger and palette knife.
Add Mermaid Lagoon Archival ink through the Clarity Pond Fish stencil over parts of the background.
Stamp one of the Clarity Tropical fish and the mermaid tail from Dee’s Friends Faith (A5) onto scraps of Clarity stencil card in London Fog memento and Tuxedo Black Memento ink respectively.
Add the coral from the Tropical Fish stamp set in Versamark ink. Heat emboss with Carnelian embossing powder.
Colour the fish and tail with Faber-Castell Polychromos: fish (132/189/131), tail (154/156/153).
Fussy cut the fish and the tail and add them to the background. Seal with matte medium and dry thoroughly.
Add a little aged ivory embossing enamel over the sea bed.
Use Faber-Castell big brush markers to add highlights and shading around the tail, the coral and the fish.
Add the title ‘Under the Sea’ using the Clarity Word Chain Alphabet. Stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss with Carnelian embossing powder.
Die cut and emboss some shells, a starfish (Marianne) and a crab (Joycraft) from kraft card.
Add Versamark ink to the embossed areas of the die cuts and heat emboss with Carnelian embossing powder.
To finish, add the die cut elements to the page.
