My
sister qualified as a GP at the beginning of August 2016, having
previously worked for years as, firstly a nurse, then a health visitor.
This is something that she worked massively hard at to achieve and
after going back to university and long training, placements in
hospitals and GP practices as well as regular study, exams and long
hours, she finally made it.  I am so proud of her.  She has worked
as a partner at her Practice since then and I made this card to wish
her well when she started. She and my other sister who is a senior nurse at a walk in centre in the South of England are my heroes!
 I
hit upon the idea of basing the card around the initials GP when I was
looking through my box of alphabet stamp sets and realised how many
different ones that I had.  The focal point font is an old, sadly
discontinued set of alphabet stamps by Dimension Fourth; the others
range from two sets of Claritystamp alphabets, Crafter's Companion,
Papermania and too many others to mention.  In total I must have
randomly stamped about 13 or 14 sets of letters.  I deliberately left
some of the background (an A5 piece of Kraft card) blank, but also took
care to vary the direction of the initials and to go off the edge of the
page in places.  I used the Ground Espresso Archival ink in the new
Distress palette.

 Once
I was happy with the placement of the letters, I blended some Vintage
Photo and a little Ground Espresso around the sides and in some of the
blank spaces; I also coloured in some of the letters using a Brushed
Corduroy  distress marker.  The large GP letters were heat embossed
using gold embossing powder onto dark brown card, cut out and a gold
Sakura calligraphy pen used to add a zentangle pattern.

 I
also die cut the Doctor's bag and the stethoscope from the Doctor and
Hospital die sets by Marianne Creatables from the same dark brown card;
rubbing gold gilding wax over the top to tie in with the gold initials
and bring out the detail of the embossing.

The kraft card was added to the front of an A5 dark brown portrait card and the gold and brown letters added using foam pads.
