I made this tag in response to a challenge by the inspiring Barbara Gray on her blog. There is too much hatred in this world, yet I have always felt positive vibes from all the different art communities that I am part of.
I had already added colour to a #8 Manilla Tag using Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks. I got the effect that I wanted by adding each of the colours to my glass mat, spritzing with water and dragging the tag through the colour. I dried the tag between layers and repeated, allowing the ink to drip on the tag until I was happy with the results.
I added the word 'Art' from Word Chain 1 by Claritystamp, using Versamark ink and heat embossing using Cosmic Shimmer detail white embossing powder. I also added some texture using one of the stamps from the Slight Alterations stamp set, designed by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous and stamping in Paradise Teal Archival ink.
The next step was to add the large drip stamp from the Drips and Dirt set (The Art of Brett Weldele) in Cobalt Archival ink. Further stamps from the same collection by Stampers Anonymous were added in Paradise Teal and Cobalt Archival ink, to complete the splattered grungy look. Finally the additional words were printed out using my Dymo Letratag machine, trimmed and glued into place.
