Bijou Branches, Twigs and Sprigs
I tried out various ideas using the new Bijou (A6) Branches Twigs and Sprigs stamps for the Clarity Make and Takes last week. This was my first idea - we kept the design for the tag but reimagined the card.Choose a topper and tag from the Barbara’s Spring/Summer Landscape Backdrop Prints Toppers & Tags.Add a strip of low tack tape to the bottom of both and to the left of the topper (31211).Add the largest branch from the A6 stamp set to a mega mount (31622), ink up with Vintage Photo Distress Archival ink and add it to the topper.Add the ‘grass’ stamp along the bottom in Peeled Paint Distress Archival ink using a Stamp Pen Pro (31980).Add fence posts along the bottom in Jet Black Archival ink (50030) using the thick straight branch from the A6 set.Use the same stamp to add cross bars to the fence masking with low tack tape as needed.Add flower heads to the grasses in Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Archival inks using a smaller stamp pen (31746), then add a dragonfly and bird in the same black ink as before.Add foliage to the tree in the same green ink as the grass and remove the tape.Add one of the Bijou Tall Feel Good Sentiments in Jet Black Archival ink.To finish the card, trim off the bottom (4.75” x 4.75”), edge with a black Perga colour pen and add to the front of a 5” x 5” white card blank. For the tag, add grass and flowers in the same way as the card.Add further leaves/foliage in Peeled Paint Distress Archival ink.Add a couple of swallows in Jet Black Archival ink.To finish, add one of the larger dragonflies into the foreground likewise, remove the tape, then add the sentiment. If I were to make the card again, I would go with brown ink for the fence as the black is a little stark.
