January ATC: Anything Goes

The prompt for the Clarity Mini Makes and ATCs swap for January is Anything Goes, so I decided to use some of my alcohol ink backgrounds made with a gel press in a workshop with Barbara Gray.

I chose one of my small stencil card back grounds.

Then I trimmed the sides to measure 2.5” x 3.5”.

It was a quick job to add the ATC stamp on the back and complete the details in Jet Black Archival ink and a micron pen.

It was time to add some tracing paper for planning the scene.

I started with the flock of birds from the Woodland Treescape stamp set in the same ink as before.

Next, I added one of the fences from the Meadow Treescape set but shortened it to fit the curve of the slope (70% IPA works really well on a paper towel to remove ink from tracing paper - thanks for the tip Barbara).

This was followed by one of the smaller trees from the Hill Top Treescape stamp set.

I finished with the larger couple from the Trees and People Mega Build a Landscape set.

When I transposed the scene onto the actual background, I masked off using low tack tape as needed.  I also added some light shadows using Polychromo #232 (Essentials).

To finish, I added the sentiment from the Safari Treescape stamp set.

For the card, I started with a background made at the same time as the one I used for the ATC.

Having used my view rulers first, I die cut the topper using the 2.5” nested square die, as well as a mat from black card using the 3” nested square film strip doodle frame-its frames & panels die.

This time, I worked directly onto the topper.  I added the larger barn from the Buildings and Animals Mega Build a Landscape stamp set in Jet Black Archival ink.

I followed up with the goose from the same set several times using first and second generation stamping.

I finished with the flying geese from Barbara’s Build a Landscape Favourites.

The topper was matted up and added to a 4” x 4” white card blank.

I finished the card with one of Barbara’s words stickers.
