An Experiment with Hot Foil and Masking Fluid

Barbara Gray often says 'What if?' so I decided to follow her example and see if I could combine hot foiling with the use of masking fluid using the October Clarity New Design Club stencil.  It worked really well foiling first.

Trim one of the Quote postcards from set 3 to 5" x 5".

Use the gold hot foil and laminator to add gold foil to the lettering.

Add masking fluid through stencil #137 with a sponge applicator and remove some with a paper towel.  Remove the stencil and allow to dry.

Blend Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide over part of the topper.

Move onto Dried Marigold Oxide.

Add Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide and finally blend over with Mustard Seed Oxide.

Rub off the dry masking fluid with a piece of paper towel.

Edge the topper with gold foil, using a double sided tape runner to add the foil.

To finish, add the topper to a 6" x 6" white card blank.
