This piece was completed for Explore Your Creativity Challenge 9 over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art. I created it in anticipation of our 4000th member as we are very close to achieving this milestone. Please feel free to come and join a very friendly and supportive group of creative people, led by Louise Withers. The prompts were 'Doodle', 'Ink' and 'Rainbow'.
Working on a piece of watercolour card (18.5cm x 19.5cm), I spritzed the page with water, scribbled on various colours of Ecoline water colour brush pens, spritzed again then repeated until I was happy with the colours. The page was thoroughly dried with a heat gun. The brilliant thing about the Ecoline pens is that scribbling into water in no way spoils the pen or ruins the nib.
I drew out JJJAMA 4000 in honour of the group's impending milestone, using a Sakura 05 black micron pen. To complete the page, I only had to enjoy doodling within the numbers and letters with the same pen. For 4000 I made up my own patterns. The letters are a mixture of my own patterns plus those I saw in Zentangle© Basics (Book 1) and Zentangle© Colour with Mixed Media (book 9) from the series of books by Suzanne McNeill a certified Zentangle© teacher. By the last couple of letters, I was feeling really relaxed.
