WOYWW 883/103: Remembering Neet

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Most of you will have heard the sad news that our dear friend and WOYWW stalwart Neet passed away in hospital last Wednesday evening.  This week's WOYWW is intended as a tribute to her.

I first met Neet in person at Port Sunlight, although she already felt very familiar from her blog.
We met again at various crops over the years - this one from 2018 when Shaz in Oz came over to visit.
This is one of the more recent crops hosted by Twiglet and Whipso in Shrewsbury.
Sadly, we have also lost other WOYWWers over the years - Bishops Mate and Shazsilverwolf.
We never get much done at these crops but always manage a good natter and catch up.

It was good to see Neet at the last in person crop in 2024 in Stoke on Trent.  I suggest that the ATCs we share for the 17th anniversary next week could be some of Neet's for those who swapped with her in the past.

Stay safe and RIP Neet - you will be sadly missed.

  2. Sad to hear and seeing others also gone in the photos makes it me remember all we’ve shared over such a long period of time. I’ll have to scour my ATC files and see what I can find. Neet was a real treasure and I’ve missed her over this last absence. This is a lovely tribute to her. Like you I saw at the last crop and am glad i have some lovely not to distant memories of her. Helen said it perfectly, RIP Neet and love to all the WOYWW gang.

  3. A lovely tribute to a special lady. Thanks for sharing all those photos - such happy days together. Looks like my blog post stole your ATC idea. I spent a happy hour sorting through my ATCs and put Neet's together to share today. Great minds.πŸ˜ƒx x Jo 🌈

  12. What a lovely tribute to Neet and some lovely photos of her. I first met her at Paddy's Stamp place, where she was teaching an altered art class and I immediately warmed to her towering presence :D - so lively, friendly and chatty. Then as we became friends, discovering how generous she was too. RIP Neet, a true and fabulous friend xx

  13. What a blessing that you got to meet in person Neet and others in the WOYWW community that have passed away. Like you said, Neet and others "already felt very familiar from her blog." RIP Neet and Shalom to you.

  14. I felt I knew Neet, even though I never met her in person. Lovely photos, also of Shaz Silverwolf, who we also lost😒 It's funny how I feel I "know" people through this blog sharing, people I probably will never meet in person, but still miss when they've gone, and still count as my friends. RIP Neet. Lindart #15
