WOYWW 828/48: And Relax...

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday), the brainchild of Julia, who has kindly entrusted it to me to continue after 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk shows various Clarity goodies which arrived at the weekend.  I am also now onto my third Petite Journal which I use for my #dailyart2025 drawings.  I made a card (blogged yesterday) with the new Botanical stencils and Woodblock stickers.
It measures 4" x 4" and also used some of the mini designer/stencil card.

An oddly specific prompt.

I avoided having to draw a face by pronouncing the prompt differently.
I went with a very loose style - took me 5 minutes.
Again managed to avoid drawing the human form lol.
Another quick one.

I was much better visiting last week and actually made it round on Wednesday evening.  I will also do better this week as it is the holiday time.  Four more weeks until the 16th anniversary.  I am thinking that we could do a virtual ATC swap by sending photos via email to save on postage - what does everyone think?

I am having a lovely lazy holiday so far.  Lots of lie ins and music making / crafting.  The internet cable doesn't seem to be connecting in the shed but I have found a way to use my phone as a hot spot so will now be able to sign up Barbara Gray's 321 Landscapes and Stamping workshops.

I have been asked to do the inky make and takes at the Clarity Open Days at the end of May so am trying out some ideas.  Just waiting for my next parcel to arrive so I can really get going.

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

  1. I love to see your daily watercolours, Sarah. Virtual ATCs are fine by me.
Really enjoy your Easter holidays as I’m thinking this is the last one where you’ll have to go back before you retire.

  2. Third journal already, that's some drawings done. Love the first one today.
    Nice card too.
Congrats on the inky make and takes - it should be fun for you.
I am easy on the ATC's, just annoyed that the Royal Mail causes us to think like this but it has got out of hand with pricing and is hitting us card makers hard. Journaling is taking over I think.

  4. You are defo Mrs Clarity aren't you? Thanks for the invite to her page but I don't own any clarity stash so I guess not for me. Oh hang on I did get a Speedball Brayer, was that Clarity an age ago? Love the card you made with the stencil, the word blocks are cool. Super drawings this week and well done on avoiding human faces. Hugs BJ#6

  8. Hi Sarah, sounds like you're having a good Easter break. The school holidays are all over the place this year. Doncaster went back to school Monday, Lincoln are on their second week and you I believe, on your first. I'm still happy to swap as usual but I'll go along with whatever is decided. Happy woyww, Angela x10x

  9. That’s a clever idea re the virtual ATCs, we could make one and just post it up on our blog that week - crazy that the postage is so high, Royal Mail are pricing themselves out of it - surely if the postage was cheaper more people would use it or am I being naive? Your drawings from the prompts are great and always make me think how I would have interpreted it!

  10. Wonderful to read that you've been relaxing and taking full opportunity of your break to rest and indulge in your creative pastimes. Another week of brilliant drawings too - love how you chose your own reading of the word 'tear' :) Enjoy the rest of your holiday xx

  11. Those Botanical stencils look fabulous!
Emailed ATCs would certainly be easier for me!

  12. I am happy to post or go virtual, whatever the majority prefer. Your drawings are great. That was very clever going for tears (rips) instead of tears (emotions). You could have gone with an image from Alice , the mouse swimming in tears! Have a great week. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11

  13. That is a really nice stencil isn't it, looks great layered like that, great idea. I'm happy for virtual and IRL ATC swapping, what a good idea Sarah. Glad you're enjoying what I consider a proper bit of down time this holiday!

  14. I'm definately OK with virtual ATC swapping! I love how you managed to avoid drawing people and faces this week! I do like the foggy drawing best, as it reminds me of when we were in Nova Scotia several years ago and got lost in a foggy forest, just like the one you drew, looking for a gas station. It really was something like out of a horror movie! Luckily we found the gas station and lived to tell the story! LOL! My motto is, if it brings you joy, do it! (Which is probably why my house is so dirty!) So enjoy your downtime, your crafting, and your music, and have a wonderful Easter! Lindart #15🐰🐣

  15. I'm here at last! Sorry I'm late. House /dog sitting and at last I think they are tired out and snooozzing in the sun. Your desk looks very inviting with loads of things in veiw, which I love to have a good nose around....I think we should all show more of our crafty spaces...I know there'd be loads of hiden stuff stored away out of sight! (or camera shot!) Your papges look great too...I'd love to join in with that, but just would never find the time! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn))#13
