I had a lovely catch up with a former colleague yesterday morning. We have arranged to meet up again next month and I am looking forward to it. I am really busy with secret stuff over the next couple of weeks so I am afraid that my desk will be rather boring - although I do have a couple of parcels on their way so could share my new stash when it arrives.
I'd quite like to get a better idea of numbers for the crop on May 10th at it is edging ever closer. I will have to finalise payment for the hall two weeks before. The cost will be £140 divided by however many people attend. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.
I could do with sorting my stamps out like you do. Oops with the prompts group! Although had to google MAGA!! Know what you mean about the stairs, my parents added a floor to their house with open stairs over the original stairs so much further down too! Eeeek. I'm awake early with a horrid sore throat so will probably go back to bed now, hope to get round desks later as don't think I'll be going to house group with this today. Hugs BJ#1
ReplyDeleteHow ridiculous calling for you to be banned on account of 'that' one drawing. I think it is a great idea! But then I am not for Tango these days.

Still not nailed down cat cover so unsure of crop attendance. Hopeful, but I just can’t commit. Love the sketches but is it heights,stairs or falling??

Brilliant! I love that your art caused controversy lol. Every artist/creative comes up against it. Some of the best art and artists have produced works which people react against. Personally, I don't see the problem. You created something which reflects how you see the prompt, the way you see the world. If there are group rules not to publish drawings which contain sexual/religious/political content then fair enough. Shouldn't stop you drawing them, just don't post those particular ones or post a blurred image lol. You are free to draw what you wish. As for calls for you to be removed, if people are feeling that passionately then perhaps they could turn their ire onto more serious problems this world has. l love seeing your daily drawings, I'm in awe of how committed you are at making them every day without fail. You are to be applauded, not chastised. Rant over lol Oh and I recently met a woman who shares your fear of stairs with no risers. She couldn't go down into our cellar. I thought she was worried about spiders or enclosed spaces but nope, it was the open steps down. Not heard of this fear before and now I've come across it twice in a week xxxxxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteOh dear! Some people take offence very easily. I read it as Masa first and then googled Maga! I do hope you don’t get banned. Yes, I am with you on staircases without a rail. My MIL has a stair rail that you can’t hold on to and it makes me a bit nervous. Great drawings, love the frog! Happy WOYWW. Angela. #10.

ReplyDeleteI love your sketches every week. If people want to feel 'targeted' or whatever - I am so over it. I look forward to them in any context.
I wish I could attend the crop. If I even thought the postal service would do their job in getting packages to you, I'd send goodies to share in my absence. I would love to do the ATC swap, though.

I like your Oops! drawing - perfect! Too many snowflakes out there I guess...people get offended by the smallest things these days! You have to the right to draw what the prompt inspires you to! I do agree with your greatest fear drawing...Have a wonderful week! Lindart #15

That’s ridiculous criticism, it’s a statement of fact. I like your daily paintings and admire your persistence. I’m sorry but I can’t commit to the crop with my aunt so ill. I’d hope to be in Stoke anyway but can’t be sure.

ReplyDeleteooh interesting I wasnt able to comment earlier in the week either, presumed it was me hopefully this will work now too. Dont think I can make it to the crop, which I am gutted, a bit too far to travel at the mo as body is a bit rubbish but hopefully it will be a lovely one. Missed the last couple so I need to do a catch up at some point (especially since its a good excuse to sort my stash out and bring to give away/swap :-)

Some people just love to be offended. Do what you want! Still in awe of your daily art, weekly is becoming more usual for me. However when I look at my phone usage stats it's clear there so some slack, even though I do read a lot on my phone. So, sorry I am so late and sorry to hear you have cancelled the crop. In all honesty don't think I was going to make it this year. Hope you are well, love n hugs Cindy xx
