WOYWW 647: Workshop Here I Come

Welcome to a relaxing WOYWW contribution - it is half term and I am scheduling this so I can have a lie in.  Please visit Stamping Ground where Julia will explain more about the weekly desk sharing.

The desk shot is as boring as ever, but I can't share the secret stuff I am up to ready to post on Friday as it won't be available until next Wednesday.  I am expecting Eva later and we will have a lovely day crafting together.

The daily drawing is still going strong.  I am really looking forward to Tilly Tea Dance's workshop on Friday where I will be learnin gthe art of needle felting a picture - hopefully it will be good enough to give to my Mum for her 80th birthday later this year so I won't be sharing it straight away.  Stay safe everyone and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 646: Countdown to Half Term

Welcome to the weekly sharing of my desk with all the fine people who participate in WOYWW, led by Julia at Stamping Ground.  Please pop over to find out more.

Nothing much new on my desk.  I am between samples and the latest lot have already been posted off.  The daily drawing routine is still going strong and I am joining in with #inktober2021.

I had to honour the new shed roof of course lol.

This week is the last of this half term so next week I am looking forward to a week off and Tilly Tea Dance's workshop!  No meeting after school this evening for me but I do want to make sure that I have no marking to do over the holidays so it may be tomorrow before I visit.  Stay safe everyone and happy WOYWW.

NB I have been trying to leave comments on blogs and keep getting error messages so may not be able to this week.

Silhouettes against a Designer Paper Background

I can never bare to throw away offcuts from the pretty Clarity designer papers and have built up quite a stash of strips.  Here I used some of them to create a background for this lovely silhoette die.

Woodland Creatures: Stencil Techniques

Today I thought I'd bring together a selection of techniques using the Woodland Stencils from Clarity.  You could use any picture stencil instead though.

#Inktober2021 Round Up: Part 1

I have been using the official #inktober2021 prompt list this month as part of my challenge to draw every day.  Here is my progress so far.

A nice easy one to get started.
Just like one in my wardrobe that I no longer wear.
I have drawn a few ships already this year so decided on a different interpretation. I had the Danny Kaye line 'the vessel with the pestle is the brew that is true, running round my head.
Another simple interpretation.
This was a major challenge for me so I found a picture to copy and went for it!
I went for a dual interpretation.
My parents have one in their conservatory.
Again, I tried for a different interpretation as I have already drawn time pieces this year.
I hate it when people shake a can before opening it, but it made for an easy interpretation.
Another easy prompt.
A prompt that I had earlier in the year so decided to go with a more cartoon like image this time.
My previous interpretation back in August.
One of my absolute pet hates!
It's not very long since my craft shed had a new roof, so this was an easy prompt to respond to.
I decided to challenge myself a little rather than a tick on a list (a check mark in the US).
I have only been on a motor bike once and was very glad of a helmet.
Memories of school!
I am looking forward to working on the rest of the prompts!

A Moth called Lucy!

I immediately thought of a well known song by The Beatles when I saw this Clarity stamp set designed by Cherry Green.  This card is my interpretation.

Two For One Die Cut Birthday Cards

I made two birthday cards from one die cut using Barbara Gray's trap the scrap method and the Clarity New Design Club August 2021 die. Here is the first.

Threaded Frame Christmas Card

I added a threaded frame to this 2-way stamped wreath to make a cheerful festive card.

Die cut a topper from Clarity stencil card using the 4.25” nested circles picot die. Cut the nested circle doodle frame-it frames from the same sort of card and choose the third largest frame.
Stamp the inner 2-way Christmas Wreath onto the topper in Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide.
Add the outer wreath over the top in Nocturne Versafine Clair ink.
Add Peace on Earth into the centre in the same ink.
Colour the berries using a red alcohol marker.
Thread red flat elastic through the Frame-It frame, finish with a knot, and trim the ends.
Add the frame to the front of a 6” x 6” black card blank.
To finish, add the topper to the centre of the card.
