WOYWW 533: Enjoying Some Clarity

I am sitting in McDonalds enjoying the use of their free Wi-Fi (and an indulgent sausage and egg McMuffin meal), as Eva and I won't be heading over to the first day of our Clarity retreat until 8am.  We travelled down yesterday so we would be fresh for the workshops today and tomorrow.
My 'desk' today is therefore the bed at the Travelodge where we are staying and all the unopened birthday cards that I brought with me to open tomorrow.  I won't have much time to visit you all until the weekend as we travel home on Friday.  However I recommend that you visit Julia at The Stamping Ground to see a more interesting selection of desks for WOYWW.

Eva and I went for a walk around Maidstone where we are staying yesterday evening.  The colourful building is the Travelodge.  We enjoyed a fabulous Italian meal and when walking back discovered that in the retail park next to the hotel (on the right) there is a Hobbycraft and The Range.  Luckily they were both closed by the time we realised lol.
Maidstone has some amazing historic buildings and was home to one of George Washington's ancestors.
The ancestor along with Caxton and a couple of others are pictured on this house.
We look forward to exploring further this evening.  Havea great WOYWW everyone.  Next week I'll share all the photos I take on the retreat.

  2. Morning Sarah. Have a really special day tomorrow - double celebration - your birthday, and a Clarity day! Enjoy!!! I reckon you will, in the interests of science, etc., need to check out those two stores before travelling home. I think I have only been to Kent once in my whole life - but Maidstone looks great. Safe journey home.
    Take care. God bless.

  14. What lovely photos of Maidstone, Sarah. When we had a holiday in Kent we never went there, but seeing these pictures I wish we had! I love the character of the old buildings. I hope you have a lovely time. Thank you for your visit and I laughed at your comment about Ruby being big boned lol lol! My cleaning lady said today that Ruby can't be that fat or she wouldn't be able to squeeze behind the fridge to hide every week when she appears and makes all that horrid noise with the vacuum cleaner!! I agree about the use of kitchen paper in the studio - I do the same, deliberately keeping the colours separate so they don't turn to mud, and I can use them in projects. I've got quite a box full now and they are so pretty! Little Jess sounds so sweet - it's lovely when they are affectionate like that. Small as they are, they know how to steal your heart, don't they!

    Happy WOYWW,

  15. Hi Sarah, and Eva, I expect you are still very busy at the workshop but have you made it to Hobbycraft and The Range yet - I'm thinking you might find time during lunch break :) Lovely photos of Maidstone - interesting place. Happy Birthday! Hugs, Elizabeth x #18

  16. Ah fun time together Sarah, and many belated happy returns if the day for yes I’m very very very late. Like the white rabbit in Alice!
Love the view with reflections on water, and certainly very picturesque. Went to Kent in 2009, no idea if we went through there, didn’t stop that I can recall.. but that doesn’t mean anything.
Am sure purchases will be made at Clarity, if not elsewhere. I’d love to go to the Range.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.
