Up Above the Streets and Houses: A Rainbow Canvas

I made this canvas board as a sample for Claritystamp using some of Leonie's stencils, but it fits the March mini mission prompt over on Mission Inspiration: Up Above the Streets and Houses, Rainbow Flying High.
I started by gluing some strips of Romanian text to a 6" x 6" canvas board from Clarity.  I took care not to get glue on the front of the papers.
Next, I laid the Flicked Circus stencil over the board and blended alcohol inks over the top in a rainbow pattern: Red Pepper, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Citrus, Sail Boat Blue, Indigo and Purple Twilight.  Once the stencil was removed, i smoothed out the colours using blending solution, leaving only a hint of the stencil pattern in the sky.
I finished off the bottom left corner with Aqua alcohol ink.
For the focal point, I laid Leonie's Arty Arrows frameless stencil over some cardboard packaging and outlined it lightly using a fine micron pen.
The 'houses' were then cut out using small scissors and a craft knife.
Detail was added using a medium Pitt Artist pen.

They were then glued to the canvas board and trimmed along the bottom.
Next, I used a brush pen to intensify the black lines on the houses.
I also added white highlights with a gel pen.
To finish, I coloured one of the Tim Holtz Quote Chips with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distress Oxides to mimic the colour of the cardboard houses. I added a drop shadow to the lettering with a white gel pen and added the quote chip to the canvas board.

A really happy creation. (You did lose me slightly when you mentioned cutting out cardboard, but you know my feelings about cutting out.) It is always good to see how you use such different things and bring them all together. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)
