Making Patchwork From A Stamp: Clean and Simple Birthday Card

This is the first of my samples for the new 3 way overlay stamps being launched on Hochanda at 12pm today (live from the NEC).  The matching stencils and dies are already available.
I started by using the #2 stamp from the Earth has Music set, stamping it in Wild Honey Distress Oxide onto Clarity stencil card.
Without cleaning the stamp, I added touches of Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide and stamped over the first image.
I repeated this process using Fossilized Amber Oxide overlaid with Wild Honey.
Then again with Abandoned Coral overlaid with Wild Honey.
Each stamp was trimmed closely and then divided along the line below the birds.

The panels were then mixed up creating a patchwork effect and glued onto a panel of black card (21cm x 9.2cm) leaving a narrow gap between each section.

I could have saved myself time with the next bit by using the outline stamp before gluing the stamped images onto the panel.  Instead, I used a 0.1 micron pen to go round all the edges of the top centre image to make it stand out against the rest.

The finished panel was added to an A5 card blank.  I stamped Celebrate Your Special Birthday (Mini Word Chains 3&4) below the panel in black ink to finish.
