Using Up My Scraps on an Art Journal Page

This is my final page for the January prompts on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More.  The monthly prompt was 'words' and the fourth week each month is for using scraps.  Everything used on this page came out of my scrap box and I am really pleased with the result!
I worked on a piece of mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm) to fit into my 8" x 8" spiral bound kraft journal.  I started by adding a piece of copy paper that had been used to clean off my brayer for some recent projects (see HERE and HERE).  It was dried and trimmed.
I had another piece of copy paper with a partial gel plate print using alcohol inks through the Claritystamp Wild Privet stencil (see HERE).  I cut out all the remaining leaves that I could find.
I also had a piece of a paper napkin left over from a journal collage page last year (see HERE).  I ran my water brush around the edges of the images that I wanted to use, tore them out and stuck them onto the background, sealing with matte medium.
Next I added the leaves, sealing them in place before drying the page thoroughly.
As the global prompt for January is 'words', I found some printed tissue paper and cut out the sentiment that is repeat printed all over the paper.  This was added in the same way as the other elements.
In order to make the words stand out, I went round each letter roughly with a white Sakura gelly roll pen.
I blended some of the Caput Mortuum Big Brush marker along the bottom of the page and in the top right corner.  I also added white highlights to the leaves in the same gelly roll pen as before.
To finish,  I decided to add a butterfly made from cardboard packaging and the Tim Holtz Butterfly Duo Bigz die and matching embossing folder.  I found a couple to choose from in my stash, left over from a previous crafting session (see HERE).
I didn't really plan this page, it just grew organically from the bits that I found in my scrap box.  I love the finished piece though!
