Unicorn Decoupage Card

This is another of my samples from Maria Moorhouse's shows on Hochanda on 13th February (watch on catch up 12pm and 4pm).  I used the cling film technique to create  the background and decoupaged the stamped image.
I blended Black Shadow Artistry ink all over a piece of A5 Clarity white coated card stock.
Next, I spritzed some water on to a piece of cling film and laid it water side down on the inky card.  I created creases in the cling film to encourage the ink to move around.
Once the background had dried naturally, the cling film was removed and the surface buffed up with a piece of paper towel.
The unicorns were stamped onto an A6 piece of black coated card stock in Versamark ink and heat embossed in detail silver embossing powder.
This step was repeated with white coated card stock.
Having fussy cut elements of the image stamped on the white card stock, they were decoupaged over the other image.
The background panel was trimmed to 20cm x 13.8cm, matted onto a piece of black card and added to an A5 white card blank.
The unicorn panel was trimmed to 9cm x 11cm, matted first onto silver card and then onto black, leaving a wider border.
The words Dream, Imagine and Hope from Mini Word Chains 5&6 were stamped and heat embossed onto an off cut of black coated card stock in the same way as the unicorn images.
Once trimmed, the word panel was matted and layered in the same way as the unicorn panel.
To finish, both panels were added to the background, lining them up carefully.

Cling film technique gives such a lovely effect. Like this design very striking. xx
