A Quick and Colourful Surprise Card

This card would be perfect for announcing a surprise party or any other surprise event.  It is quick to make, clean, simple but effective.
I worked directly onto the front of a 7" x 7" white card blank, stamping the large leafy swirl from the stamp set of the same name by Claritystamp in Onyx Black Versafine ink, then heat embossing using clear embossing powder.
Having masked off a section using two of the blank masking sheets,  I blended Ocean Reef Artistry ink and Twisted Citron Distress ink across the opening.  Because they are both dye based inks, they blended together beautifully where the colours met.  The masking was then removed.
Surprise plus the exclamation marks from the mini word chain set 17 & 18 were stamped onto an off cut of Clarity stencil card and heat embossed in the same manner as the swirl.  This was trimmed, matted onto black card leaving a narrow border and added below the coloured panel.

Gorgeous colours. I do like the leafy swirls. I like the idea of using the masking sheets as well to make your border. X

Another great card, I am going to have to add these stamps to my shopping basket. I was going to wait but there are too many things I want to try.
