Clean and Simple Masculine Birthday Card

I have been asked for masculine birthday cards a great deal recently.  Here is one which would be suitable.  It is a clean and simple design.  Unfortunately I didn't remember to take any step by step photos until near the end.

I cut a piece of stamping card to 12.8cm x 19cm and laid the Clarity New Design Stencil Club #40 tree stencil over the top.  Aqua Fusion Artistry ink was blended through the stencil using a stencil brush.  Before the stencil was removed, I traced round all the apertures with a black fine liner pen.  Once the stencil had been removed, I added shading to the trunks and branches using Cinnamon Tea Artistry ink painted on with a water brush.

Once dry, the background was matted onto black card leaving a narrow border and added to an A5 card blank.  The verse from the Owl and Oak stamp set was added in the bottom right hand corner in Onyx Black Versafine ink.

For the topper,  I cut another piece of stamping card to 7.5cm x 10cm.  The single owl from the Wise Owls stamp set was added in Onyx Black ink and coloured using various shades of brown Artistry inks and a water brush.  The edges of the card were lightly brushed with Cinnamon Tea ink.

This was also matted onto black card and added to the card.

To finish,  Happy and Birthday from Mini Word Chains 3&4 were added in the same black ink.
