My desk this morning is in a poor state. It is totally staged (although the photo was actually taken this morning for a change). It shows the only things that have been going on there in the last week: marking, although I have managed to make a couple of tags and am just about keeping up with Inktober.
The reason for this lack of crafting activity? I was phoned last Wednesday evening to be told that a family friend had passed away very suddenly that day. My husband had known him all his life and our families had been on camping holidays together as the children are similar ages (currently 19. 24, 25 for us and 20, 23 and 23 for them). They have no close family in this country at all, so I have been spending my day's off over there helping with the arrangements. I have even been recycling previous card posts for the blog. I am still looking forward to seeing people on Sunday, so don't be put off coming. The cake may well be shop bought, but the welcome will be genuine!
