Abstract: An Art Journal Page

This page is in response to the final June prompt over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More: Repeat After Me, Abstract.  Once again, I tried out a selection of my new Amsterdam acrylics.
I worked on a piece of mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm).  I started by scraping various Amsterdam Acrylics over the whole page using an old season ticket card.  I chose three opaque colours: King's Blue, Sky Blue Light and Ultramarine Violet Light and two translucent colours: Greenish Blue and Permanent Red Violet.
I then added a layer of hexagons using the solid stamp from Sam's Shapes 2 from Claritystamp.  Paint was added to the stamp, then brayered to smooth it out.  The stamp was re-brayered to add more paint until it had all been used up (Sky Blue Light, Ultramarine Violet Light and Permanent Red Violet).
For the next step I used the row of hexagons stamp from the Geometric Neon stamp set from DoCrafts to add further detail in Cobalt Archival ink.  I stamped it multiple times to add three rows across the page.
I went round the edges of some of the small hexagons using a fine white Posca pen.  The outline hexagon from Sam's Shapes 2 was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with detail white EP around some of the larger hexagons.
The prompt word 'Abstract' was stamped and heat embossed in the same manner using the Word Chain Alphabet from Claritystamp.  There was nearly a major OOPS as I initially missed the first 't' out; luckily I caught the error before I heat set the embossing powder.
Finally, I printed the rest of the Georgio Morandi quote using my Dymo Letratag, trimmed the panels and added them to the page.
