Springtime Tags

These tags were made for the February swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The prompt was Springtime and I decided to create the backgrounds in a similar manner to the talented Lou Withers having watched her Facebook Live video on the subject.

I worked on two #8 manilla tags simultaneously, adding the same colours and stamping to both, so that they would be similar.  I started by adding a green Gouache colour onto both tags using a brayer.  For the second tag, I gave the Gouache a spritz of water first  so it moved around more.

I then added Cyan in the same manner (but with a spritz of water on both).

The next layer was Yellow Ochre Gouache which gave an additional shade of green too.

Next, I added stamping to each using the Paula Pascual Christmas Carol fine script stamp.  I used Foget-Me-Not and Leaf Green Archival inks.

The Kaisercraft Grid stamp was then used to add further texture using Library Green and Manganese Blue inks.  Flowers from the Spring Things stamp set by We R memory Keepers were then added in Brilliance Moonlight White ink and Paradise Teal Archival ink.

I decided to use two different methods for the focal points.  For one tag I used several of the Sizzix Thinlits Wildflower dies (Tim Holtz) to die cut in black card which were added to the tag;  for the other I dragged Matte Black Dreamweaver embossing paste through the Tim Holtz Wildflower mini stencil (THMS035).

It only remained to add the words using stamps by Claritystamp.  Spring was a stamp which came as part of the New Design Club in 2016 and the word time was made up using the Word Chain Alphabet.  All stamping was done in Versamark ink and heat embossed in detail black embossing powder.  Highlights were added using the Amsterdam white acrylic marker.
