WOYWW 448: Making the Most of Mop Ups!

This post is the first WOYWW of 2018 and will be posted at silly o'clock as I will be leaving home at 5.30am to get to the Hochanda studios by 8am.  I will be helping Louise Withers behind the scenes with the second day of her One Day Special with Royal Talens (2nd/3rd January).  Shaz has kindly agreed to link me up with Julia and the rest of the deskers as I won't have internet availability until very late once I leave the house.  This tag was created as the second of my Royal Talens DT pieces and features the Van Gogh Oil Pastels as well as Ecoline pens.
The background was created with a piece of mop up paper towel from my first DT piece (see HERE).  It was split into two layers.
One of the layers was added to a #8 manilla tag using matt gel medium, sealed, dried and trimmed.
Van Gogh Oil Pastels in coordinating colours were blended around the edges and into the middle of the tag to emphasize different areas.
I coloured a stamped and die cut image (the stack of books by Sheena Douglass Learn to See/The Knowledge) using the Ecoline pens and added it to the bottom of the tag, creating a shadow below with the oil pastels.

The individual owl from the Wise Owl set by Claritystamp was stamped and heat embossed onto stamping card, then coloured with Ecoline pens and fussy cut.
He was then added to the tag to stand on the stack of books.
Finally, a couple of the Clippings Stickers (Tim Holtz) completed the tag.

Last minute DT stuff to take with me
I'll finish with a picture of my desk (taken yesterday) as this is my first WOYWW post for 2018.
Eva was over yesterday, starting the year as we mean to go on, and I have a photo of the other side of the desk too.
I will share more about today's experience next week!
