Forever Autumn Tag

This tag was created for the Forever Autumn Challenge on the That's Crafty Challenge Blog: a fortnightly prompt.  I am also entering it in the October challenge on the Country View Challenge blog: Mixed Media with Autumnal Hues.  I love Autumn colours so these are just the type of challenges I like.  Once again I used up scraps and punched shapes from my stash.
As I need to replenish my tag collection following a recent crop, I worked on a #8 manilla tag.  I started with the top layer of the paper towel mop up sheet from a recent card (Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Sprays); glued and sealed into place with distress collage medium, then dried and trimmed.
As there were still large areas of cream tag showing through, I roughly tore round all the bright patches of colour on the lower layer of paper towel and added them strategically over the first layer.
I had found five Maple Leaf shapes, punched and embossed using a Woodware two in one punch, in my stash of die cuts.  These were coloured using Distress Oxides, spritzed with water and dried, then the edges were darkened with Sepia Archival ink.  These were added in a cascade down the tag.
Next the maple leaf stamp from the Rustling Leaves set (part of the Autumn Morning collection designed by Sara Davies for Crafter's Companion), was stamped along the edges in Versamark ink and heat embossed using both Ancient Copper detail embossing powder by Cosmic Shimmer and Gold embossing powder (Heat It Up).
Finally an appropriate sentiment from the Occasions Small Talk sticker pad by Tim Holtz was chosen, cut in two to fit and added to the tag.
