First Christmas Card!

I finally bit the bullet and decided that it was time to make my first Christmas card of the year.  I don't make a large number as I prefer to donate to charity instead, but I always make cards for immediate family and very close friends.  I used a stamp set that I have had in my stash for a while as well as one of the new Tim Holtz layering stencils for Christmas 2017.
The stamp set used for the toppper strip is by Stampendous and called Yule Diamonds.  I cut a piece of mixed media card to 4.5cm x 21cm and built up a pattern using a variety of the stamps in Jet Black Archival ink (I was planning on using water based pens to colour them in).
I mostly used my Ecoline brush pens as well as a couple of Kuretake brush pens in similar colours, together with a water brush for additional blending.  I was careful to balance out the colours along the length of the topper.  I trimmed the topper down along both long sides to 4cm and matted it onto dark purple card leaving a narrow border each side.
I worked on a 7" x 7" pre made card blank and blended Ocean Reef Artistry ink through the large Plaid layering stencil by Tim Holtz (THS097) which I lined up along the right hand side of the card.
The topper was added using foam tape for dimension down the middle of the plaid pattern and trimmed level top and bottom.
I have a really old A4 set of Christmas verses/sentiments which are sadly no longer available but exceptionally useful.  One of these was stamped onto a piece of white card (3cm x 5.5cm) using Jet Black Archival ink, matted onto another piece of the purple card leaving a narrow border all round and added using foam pads to match the topper.
