JJJ and Mindful Art Challenge 15: Into the Wild Woods; Green, Blue, Yellow

Once again, I am sharing this just in time to take part in Challenge 15 on Junk Journals Junkies and Mindful Art.  This is my interpretation, although I did alter the quote to read 'Wild Woods' instead of 'Forest'.

Once I'd decided on the layout, the background was easy to create; I used a mixture of Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress paint for the sky and  Bottle Adirondack paint for the ground.  Each was dabbed or painted on, blended out with my fingers then a wet wipe used to smooth out the colours.
For the next step, I die cut three of each of the Winter Trees by Sue Wilson and also of the Tiny's Pine Trees by Marianne from dark green card.  The card is not completely flat in colour, it has tiny lighter 'spatters' all over it; that plus embossing each die cut created the interest and texture I was after.  Building up the layers with the smaller trees at the back and the larger ones at the front gave the effect of a dense and wild wood.
In order to include yellow, I mixed some Yellow Ochre Reeves acrylic paint with water and used a small brush to add 'stars' in the night sky.
It only remained to add the quote, which I printed out using my Dymo Letratag in a medium size font.  I like the finished page, sometimes less is more.
