Grunge Tag

I decided to finish the tag that I was playing about with the other day.  I had already got as far as colouring and embossing it; it just needed some decoration and finishing touches.

I started with a #8 manilla tag and blended Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Oxides over it, adding a little Cracked Pistachio onto the edges.  It was then spritzed lightly with water to encourage the oxidisation effect.
Next, I embossed the tag using the Chain Link embossing folder by Couture Creations.  I then sanded the tag back a little, rubbed Cast Bronze and Patina Gilding waxes over it in places, then added some Black Soot Archival ink at the edges.
I had die cut and embossed all the cogs from the Geared Up die set by Sheena Douglass out of kraft card.  I stamped them all with the matching stamps using Coffee Archival ink, then added the same two gilding waxes and some Black Soot Archival ink to create an aged/weathered effect.  The cogs were arranged over the tag and glued into place.
For the next step, I added some Copper embossing paste by Dreamweaver through the Tim Holtz mini layering stencil (THMS087 Screwed) and dried the whole tag with a heat gun.
Finally, I glued on some of the Tarnished Mica Fragments (Stampendous Fran-tage), trimmed off the overhanging pieces, then sprinkled on some of the Golden Sand embossing powder and heated it where it clung to the tag. I haven't added a sentiment, although I will do so if I use the tag as a card topper.
