Hobby Coasters: Part One

These coasters were made for my mother's birthday.  In total there are six; one for each of her main hobbies.  Today I will share the two relating to sewing.

I can't remember a time when my Mum didn't sew; embroidery, cross stitch and dress making.  I learnt all these skills as I was growing up.  For each coaster I cut a piece of Sheena's Stamp card 8.9cm x 8.9cm to work on.
On the front of the first I stamped the old fashioned sewing machine and the word Couture from the Sewing Stamp set by Anna Griffin in Black Archival ink.  I created a mask for each and then over stamped from top to bottom using nine different colours of Archival ink and the same overlock stitch stamp from the same set.  For the back I stamped my personalised Handmade by Sarah Brennan stamp from Claritystamp, coloured it with distress markers and added rows of scalloped stitches in grey archival ink.
For the second coaster, I started with a particularly apt quote from the Knit and Stitch Die'Sire Sentimentals stamp set by Crafter's Companion, masked it off and added rows of different stitches in the same archival inks as the first.  For the back, I kept to the same colour palette as the first; grey cross stitch around the edges and the Handmade by stamp in black archival ink coloured with the same distress markers as before.
