I really enjoy using the Groovi system as it is an easy way to trace parchment designs through the etched plates. The plate that I used for this is one of a set of pants and bra plates designed by Linda Williams for Claritystamp and I worked on a piece of the coloured A5 parchment in pink. I used one of the design ideas which came with the plate to create the bra; first adding the bows, then the bra outline, then the straps and finally the lace edges.
I then worked on a soft mat with a larger ball tool to add white work to the bows to enhance the shape. You work from the back and it is important to build up the intensity of the white work slowly and gently, allowing the parchment to rest in between.
I coloured in areas of the bra from behind using a Wilted Violet distress marker, as this would allow me to add double sided tape without showing through when attaching the bra to the card. I haven't mastered picot edges yet, so I cut round the outside of the bra using a pair of decoupage scissors. I also die cut the ribbon from the Survivor Bras die set by Cheery Lynn from the same parchment and added white work to that. Once cut out the bra and ribbon curved naturally in the middle.
I had a piece of gelli printed deli paper in my stash, which fitted perfectly with the colour scheme, so decided to use that as a background. The gelli print was trimmed to 19cm x 19cm, matted onto a piece of gold shimmer paper (19.5cm x 19.5cm) and the whole thing added to a 20cm x 20cm pre made white card. I wanted to keep the curve in the bra, so I only added tape behind the purple on the straps, between the cups and along the outer edges of the cups. The ribbon was also attached with tape. The final touch was to use the 'Big 50' die from the Occasions Pop Up Sentiments die set by Tonic Studios. I cut it three times; once from the gold shimmer paper, and once each from card coloured with Gilding Polish in Purple Mist and Indian Pink. These were offset with the gold die cut on top and added onto the card above the bra.
