Crazy Cats

I had to make two birthday cards recently for crafting friends, so I decided to use the card coloured with the left overs from my tag adventure and the Crazy Cats by Tim Holtz. I wanted the cards to be similar, but not exactly the same; therefore I used two different cats, even though the accompanying stamps and accessories were the same.  I was really pleased with the finished cards, especially after I finished off the cats' eyes with Glossy Accents.

The sprays on the sheet and the distress pens which I used to colour the hats were Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Broken China.  I stamped each cat twice on the coloured background (to die cut the cat and the tail separately) and the heads only (to die cut the eyes) and party hat (twice) from the Crazy Things collection onto white card.

Once the cats were die cut, I used distress crayons in Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry and Mermaid Lagoon, with a little Vintage Photo around the edge, to provide extra depth of colour.

It was the first time that I had used the crayons and I applied them directly to the die cut and blended them with a wet finger.

The card blanks were created from two pieces of A4 hammered white card, folded in half and trimmed to 14.8cm x 14.8cm.
I used the wave stamp from the Light and Sound Borders set by Indigoblu to stamp across the card just under half way up, using Picked Raspberry distress ink and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Everyday Expressions set by Inkadinkado in black Versafine ink.  The hats were coloured using the same coloured distress pens as used in the original background for the Crazy Cats, but in a different combination each time.  Finally the inside of the card was stamped using the Senility Prayer stamp from Claritystamp.

Happy birthday Pat and Hazel!
I'm entering this into the SimonSaysStamp Cute and Cuddly Challenge.
