Hidden Christmas Message

The colour scheme for this card was inspired by the 12" x 12" paper and the organza ribbon.  The 'present' in the centre of the card hides a hidden message.  Although I used a scalloped edge pre-made card blank, I'm not so keen on the finished look and would stick to a plain 20cm x 20cm card blank next time. I'm entering this in the Becky's Place Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.

The front of the card blank was embossed using the Star of Wonder Embossalicious embossing folder, then lightly gone over with a blending tool and Dusty Concord distress ink.  The same ink was used with the Martha Stewart stamp around the page snowflake set on a piece of 6" x 6" white super smooth card. Once finished a small snowflake stamp was used to over stamp in places using an olive green ink pad.  Before the panel was attached to the front of the card, Dusty Concord was lightly blended around the edge.

A piece of 12" x 4" card (Northern Lights Violet Ice by Polar Bear Press) was scored into three sections of 4".  The two outer sections were scored diagonally to create the 'present' panel which hides the sentiment.  Before the centre panel was stuck to the middle of the card, a length of organza ribbon in shades of lilac from my craft stash was added (24"); long enough to tie a bow to 'wrap the present'.

The panel with the sentiment measures 3.75" x 3.75" and was cut from white super smooth card.  The corners were shaped using my Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper (Cloud) and the image was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then coloured with coordinating ProMarkers.  The sentiment was a free gift with Simply Cards and Papercraft issue 117.
